Dang, you’re impatient, aren’t cha? The reality is that it’ll take forever then happen instantly. That doesn’t really help, I know, but remember that not just one person is deciding to click the switch. Hundreds will be involved in the leadership decisions as consultants and analysists try to earn their paychecks. Tens of thousands of rank and file voters will be making their preferences known, probably loudly and pointedly. Millions of Democrats will hit social media and voting booths – … Continue reading “Democrat Party Collapse – How Soon?”
Indictment: Trump
Jack Posobiec was wrong today. We have not seen the death of the Republic. Far from it. What we have seen is the suicide of the Democrat Party. Democrats who want to bother with the blame game should start with Obama. In legalizing gay marriage he put his ‘legacy’ over the Democrat Party’s stability. With the gay issues resolved, Democrats no longer had a convenient excuse to not deal with the issues of all the crazies they had accumulated under … Continue reading “Indictment: Trump”
Lobbyist Liability: Suing the Middle Man
In my anything but expert understanding to bring a case before a court there has to be some kind of injury. It’s not enough that Bob made you mad; there has to be something that actually hurt you physically or financially or in some demonstrable way. Yes, this has had some hilarious results over the years as lawyers contorted legal theories into fractals to get an ‘injury’ so they could get their client’s grievance before a court. Judges have not … Continue reading “Lobbyist Liability: Suing the Middle Man”
Biden Who?
You know, that guy that stays in the White House occasionally and has a badly messed up kid? The guy 81 million people allegedly voted for after he hid in his basement during the campaign. Yeah, him. Is it just me or has Biden been amazingly unimportant? He managed to screw up Afghanistan, there is that. Oh, yeah, and there was, rather is, all that censorship and Orwellian disinformation board stuff. Trying to enact some sort of abortion law that … Continue reading “Biden Who?”
NATO’s Back! And the World is More Complicated than Ever!
The world was always complex but being the biggest kid on the block means a lot of the block just avoids you. Not the best situation but it does simplify matters. Comes in handy when having to help sort out an entire planet but it also makes it pretty easy for us to be blindsided. I can remember in the Nineties being astonished that some Eastern European country was actually expecting Bob Dole, then candidate for president, to have an … Continue reading “NATO’s Back! And the World is More Complicated than Ever!”
Good Grief, That Nosedived Fast!
This is a rare supplemental update so it won’t be uploaded as a podcast or video. My best understanding as of this writing is that the case against Trump in the Stormy Daniels matter has disintegrated. That’s impressive as it was already in ashes. The short version is Cohen’s lawyer had written a letter in 2016 on Cohen’s behalf expressly stating that Trump was not aware of the $130,000 transaction. Cohen was the star witness, and convicted perjurer, to the … Continue reading “Good Grief, That Nosedived Fast!”
Will Trump be Arrested?
As of 6:45 PM EST Tuesday there has been no arrest. Evidentially, the Grand Jury didn’t convene today so no indictment could have been made by them. Given New York’s nearly hysterical reaction to Trump’s call for protests, did the DA decide to sit today out? I don’t know. What’s being reported right now is that the grand jury will reconvene tomorrow and an indictment could come as soon as that, but at least one more witness is expected to … Continue reading “Will Trump be Arrested?”
Will There be a European Federation?
No, not anytime soon. Better questions, should there be? Nope, not now. Don’t get me wrong. I’m an American and have a soft spot in my heart for federations. Also a Star Trek fan so I am very fond of federations. I just can’t see Europe as ready for one – yet. Europe has way too many things pulling it apart now. There’s both an east/west and a north/south divide. There’s a massive wealth gap. There are major systems issues … Continue reading “Will There be a European Federation?”
Bank Failure! Cats and Dogs Marrying! Handling Screaming Headlines
Basically, stop clicking on them. If you don’t want the media feeding you a steady diet of nonsense then stop eating it. You know full well that many titles are clickbait but you can’t quite stop yourself from clicking to ‘just find out’. That’s perfectly natural and completely self defeating. Here’s the thing – this is one of those cases where you really can have your cake and eat it too. Yes, I’m serious. Here’s how. You see the post … Continue reading “Bank Failure! Bank Bailouts are a Bad Idea
Boy, I bet half of you are already heading for the comments section just from the title. But hear me out. I’m not unsympathetic to the depositors. Silicon Valley Bank had a lot of new start ups as customers. Losing that capital will end many of those businesses – for now. Here’s the thing: leaving more money than was insured in an account is beyond stupid. Did NONE of these folks have the good sense to hire an accountant? No … Continue reading “Bank Bailouts are a Bad Idea”
