It was twenty-five years ago today. Those of you my age remember exactly where you were when you first heard the news. Those of you old enough to remember still feel the shock from hearing about the first tower falling. Those too young to remember or not yet born have memories born in the archival footage and your parent’s accounts. Those too young to understand will have memories from parents and grandparents, videos and documentaries, and the many recountings from those who were there and who have shared their memories in interviews and their own posts.

None have forgotten. None will be allowed to forget. The victims deserve no less.

This great nation of ours deserves no less. Forgetting the sacrifices of those who came before us is a travesty. Whether in uniform or not, blood shed for this country is blood we do not forget.

In fifty years when we have our tricentennial, we will remember those who fell at Bunker Hill. We will remember the Maine, no matter who we think sunk it. We will remember when brother fought brother at Antietam. We will remember the fallen at Belleau Wood. We will remember those who died at Pearl Harbor, civilian and military.

And we will remember September 11, 2001.

We will never forget.
